Photography is often banned in temples due to the belief that capturing images of deities drains their spiritual energy.  This echoes early fears of photography, such as Balzac’s idea that photos strip away spectral layers of the self. My work questions how misunderstandings of modern technology evolve into theological legends, blurring the line between folklore and reality.
